Stephen Richmond Obituary


Stephen F. Richmond, 69, of Schenectady, NY passed away peacefully on April 5, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

Son of the late Mildred Baker. Graduate of Linton High School, Class of 71.  Stephen enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1971 and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged and returned to Schenectady in 1975. Stephen married Katherine Tanski in December of 1974. He went on to attend SCCC for Culinary Arts and then began working for Schenectady International ( SI Group) for 38 years.  Stephen had a love\hate relationship with the New York Giants. He was often referred to as the "animal whisperer" and especially doted on his 2 fur grandbabies Jackson and Layla. He was a movie and music buff and was an expert at all things concerning entertainment trivia.


Loving husband of Katherine, beloved father of Rebecca Richmond, Rachael ( Craig) Mormino, Eric ( Holli ) Richmond, & Stephanie Richmond. Adoring "Poppy" to Brielle Richmond and Brody Mormino. Predeacesed by  his brothers John, Edward,& Albert. Survived by his sisters Nellie Amoroso, Clara Archambault, & Vivian Bradt. As well as many nieces, nephews and close family friends. 


Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 9, from 5-7 p.m. at DeLegge Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 9 a.m. at St. Lukes Church 1241 State Street.  In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to St. Lukes Food Pantry at 1241 State Street.
