Sandra Greene

Sandra Greene of Rotterdam passed away at her home on Monday, February 8, 2021.  She was born in Schenectady, NY, to the late Edward and Ida Gregory of Rotterdam.  She attended school in Rotterdam and graduated from Draper High School in 1956.  Sandra continued her education at the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing graduating as a RN. 

She was survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles E. Greene Jr. Charles and Sandra spent  21 years with the U.S. Air Force enjoying many locations throughout the country and Europe.  She especially enjoyed her visit to the Vatican and the Shrine in Lourdes, France.

Sandra was the loving mother of two children, Dr. Kim S. Niemoeller (Dr. Stephen) of Landenberg, PA, and Dr. Gregory M. Greene (Paula Janssen) of Greenville, DE. Her life was dedicated to raising her children. Sandra enjoyed the company and interaction with her two grandchildren Brianna and Heather Niemoeller as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Sandra is survived by her sister, Patricia Budka (Edward) of Dragoon, AZ. She was predeceased by her sisters, Constance Ostrowski and Jeanne Murdico.

She loved caring for her German Shepherds raising three over the years. An avid Union College Hockey fan, she and her husband attended games for over 40 years. She was also an avid fan of Notre Dame Football.

Sandra enjoyed a lifetime of visiting the shrine at Auriesville, NY. In lieu of flowers a donation in Sandra’s name to Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine, 138 Shrine Road, Fultonville, NY 12072 would be appreciated by her family.

Upon Sandra’s wishes all funeral services will be private. Internment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
