Robert Raymond Patnode

Robert Raymond Patnode, age 82, of Rotterdam, New York, passed away peacefully at his home with family on July 11, 2025.

Born on February 10, 1943, in Niskayuna, New York, Bob was the son of James Patnode and Natalie Marrinkilweitz. He was the loving and devoted husband of Marjorie Patnode until her passing in March 2023. Bob proudly served his country for six years in the U.S. Marines Air Wing, an experience that remained a source of pride throughout his life.

Bob was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and brought joy to those around him with his infectious spirit and big smile. 

Bob is survived by his sister, Lorraine Bollinger, two stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A service will be held by the family at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Rotterdam, N.Y. on Wednesday, July 30, at 11:00 AM.   Full Military Honors will be held on Thursday, July 31, at 12:30 pm in Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization.
