Richard (Rick) Debertolis, 74, of Altamont, NY passed away on January 9, 2023. Born in Cobleskill, NY he was the son of Jennie and the late John Debertolis. Rick graduated from Middleburgh High School in 1966, Hudson Valley Community College and Union College in 1977, where he received a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1968 he started at the General Electrical Company in various staff positions. Over his 40 year career he had multiple positions and retired as a manager of Controls Engineering of the large steam turbine generator. Rick served in the NYS Air National Guard. He was a member of the ELFUN Society, the Church of St. Adalbert, St. Adalbert Holy Name Society, Sun City Hilton Head Woodworkers Club, and Brandle Meadows Technical Club. Rick spent his retirement enjoying hunting, fishing, pickleball, wood turning, and spending winters with his family and friends at his home outside of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Rick was the beloved husband of Beverly Winters Debertolis, of 54 years, loving father of Patricia (Daniel) Napolitano, of Brooklyn, NY, and Deborah (Bradley) Johnson, of Rotterdam, NY, cherished grandfather of, Sophie, Noah, Ella, Lily, and Davis, brother of, Caroline Chuminato, Thomas Debertolis, and the late John W. Debertolis.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Adalbert. Interment will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery.
