Richard Swiecicki Obituary

Richard Swiecicki, 79, passed away unexpectedly at Ellis Hospital on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  Born in Schenectady, he was employed by the New York State Research Foundation as a Systems Analyst, retiring in 2002.  He served in the US Army from 1961–1965.  He was a parishioner of the former St. Mary’s Church of Schenectady, and was a current parishioner of St. Luke’s Church of Schenectady.  He enjoyed his daily coffee and scratch offs at Stewart’s, fishing and boating on Sacandaga Lake, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Husband of the late Barbara Swiecicki, son of the late Walter and Wanda (Kursa) Swiecicki, Richard is survived by sons Michael (Colleen), James (Kendra) and Christopher (Heather).  He was an amazing Poppy to Nathaniel, Erika, Cassandra, Kolton, McKenna and Adele.  Survivors also include his sister Christine (Peter) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
