Richard (Dick) Pusz, 90, a lifelong resident of Rotterdam, passed away on August 18, 2021 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Stanley and Ida Pusz. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Rockwall APA 230. He worked for the Pleasant Valley Meat Packing Company for twenty five years. He retired from Niskayuna School District after fifteen years. Richard was a lifelong member of St. Paul the Apostle Church. He loved to fish, and enjoyed hunting, bowling golfing, and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren who he was known as Papa.
Richard was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Kislowski) Pusz whom he married on December 27, 1952 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, loving father of Linda Pusz, Susan Pusz-Franze, and the late Kathleen Pusz, grandfather of, Jared, Rachel, Alexa, and Alissa Franze, brother of Paul (Patricia) Pusz, Audrey (Pete) Zarelli, and the late Leonard (Yvonne) Pusz. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at St. Paul the Apostle Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery with full military honors.
