Patricia Kaidas (Kajdasz) Obituary

Patricia Ann Kaidas (Kajdasz), a beautiful soul, went home to dance with the Lord early Saturday morning, February 20, 2021, from Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilation Center. She was also known as Pat or Patti Ann, born January 26, 1945 in Albany, New York.

Many people have admired Pat for her faith and courage in how she persevered through the disease of Mutiple Dystrophy  (MD) that held her. She took consequences as they came and used all her strength to live life.

Her life started on Carrie St in Schenectady,  New York, with her parents Andrew and Stella (Wojczwkiewicz aka Wojcuikeiwicz) Kaidas. She attended Franklin Elementary School and came home sliding down muddy Goose Hill. After Onieda Junior High School, Pat graduated in 1963 from Linton High School (Schenectady) with a Business Diploma. She was President of the Elvis Presley Club in high school. Her favorite activities were music, jungle gym, jumping rope, throwing ball against wall, swing set and the musical numbers from "Oklahoma". Pat went on to Spencer Business School where her best subjects were typing, business law, and prim and proper class and graduated in 1964. During this time, she and her widowed father moved to Rotterdam. Her career started at Schenectady Van Corlaer Elementary school in the business office, then onto New York State Teachers' Retirement System and into to retirement. At NYSTRS she received several awards for years of service. During this time, she loved camping with friends, the game "pick-up-sticks", boating and horseback riding.

In retirement she took care of her home and her loving companion animals that were her pride and joy. She took equestrian lessons and went on a Carribbean cruise. She was a member of New Life Ministries Church. Pat loved Elvis Presley, Elvis impersonators, all Elvis music and movies and the game trivia.

She was predeceased by her parents, aunts, uncles and first cousin's Gloria, Victoria (Vicki), Marion and Paul, and survived by first cousins Victor, Michael, Peter, Francine, Theresa, Maryann, Cecilia and Katherine (Kitsey), other cousins, a Godson Roger, and a sponsored child, Marcos of Ecuador, through Children International.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home, followed by interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Troy-Schenectady, Rd., Niskayuna.
