Michael “Humpy” Humphrey, 61, passed away suddenly and peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 1st, 2026.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John and Shirley Humphrey and attended South Colonie High School. He worked at Islander Pools for over 10 years as a yard supervisor. Then, he was a proud bar owner for 27 years, first at Humpy’s and then at The King's Inn, where he made lifelong friends and cherished memories.
He enjoyed camping, quading, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his beautiful family. You could also find him feeding and admiring the deer in his backyard. He was a huge supporter of local music and enjoyed joining his friends in a song (or two). He loved supporting his girls and being the “Wheel Man” for their various activities, including softball, snocross, theater, and dance. Every day, he needed to talk to his grandson because he loved hearing him say “Pop Pop”. His wife (Judy) was his partner in crime for anything- hanging out at camp, watching shows, or tending the bar.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 22 years, Judith Humphrey. Alongside his three children, Cassidy Kislowski, Mcayla Humphrey, Lindsey Humphrey, and his grandson Domenico Paniccia. He will be deeply missed by his dogs, Roxy and Naomi ”GG”. He is survived by his siblings: Helen Jacobs, Debra Humphrey, Sandra Humphrey, Joseph Humphrey, and Aletta Karlau. He will also be reunited with his late siblings: John Humphrey and Robert Humphrey
Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 11th at 2pm. It will be held at The Kings Inn located at 6 Mcdonald Ave, Schenectady NY, 12304.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Montgomery County SPCA. You can mail a donation to: Montgomery County SPCA at 1232 NY State HWY 5s in Amsterdam, NY 12010. Or on their website: www.mc-spca.com
