Mary Joy Robb, 82, of Glenville passed away on Monday October 17th at home after a brief illness.
Born in Nova Scotia, Canada she was the daughter of the late Parker and Lena Dillman of Scotia, NY. Joy, as she was known, graduated in 1958 from Scotia High School where she met her sweetheart and future husband, the late Thomas Robb. They were married for 51 years, Joy and Tom operated Danny’s Confectionery, on Elmer Avenue, Schenectady for 32 years before their retirement in 2000. In her retirement Joy spent 10 years taking care of customers at Aumiller’s Pharmacy.
Joy was a loving Mom, Grandma, Aunt, and Great-Grandma (Gigi) to a family who she loved so dearly. Joy was surrounded by a community of friends and family with whom she enjoyed many wonderful activities in her retirement. She was always the life of the party and made sure everyone felt included in the fun. She was a dedicated communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville where she volunteered her time in service to the parish community.
Joy is survived by her daughters Denise (Ed) Buffone of New Jersey, and Laura (Greg) Bartholf of Glenville. Also, her grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Jason) Woolsey, Ashley (John) Post, Thomas (Lindsey) Buffone, Shelby Bartholf and her fiancé Matt Wade. Joy had six great-grandchildren: Noah, Zachary, Parker, Leah, Madeline, and Web. Joy is also survived by her loving sister Gail (Matt) Czyzyk, and sister-in-law Cecile Dillman. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Scott Schaffer, Lisa Dillman, Terry August, and Brian Dillman. She was predeceased by her brother and sister Bernard Dillman and Myrna Dillman and by a niece Tammy Schaffer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. from the DeLegge Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 4-6 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home.
