Mary Louise Bickauskas, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23rd in the company of family. Mary was born Mary Louise Kolibob on January 30, 1932 in Dunmore, PA, outside of Scranton to a large and loving family of 13. She began her career right out of high school as a stenographer for the FBI in Washington, DC. She later met the love of her life, Albert A. Bickauskas, whom she was known to refer to as “my Cary Grant”. They married in 1954 and moved to Schenectady, where she worked for several years as a Secretary at GE, and later at Wallace’s Department store, Glennpeter Jewelers, and the jewelry department at Present Company. She and Al were long time active members of St Mary’s Catholic Church and then St. Luke’s Church in Schenectady. Mary was naturally athletic and especially loved to bowl and golf; she belonged to women’s leagues in Schenectady for both sports for many years. Above all else, Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Nothing was more important to her than family; her family was her greatest joy. She is predeceased by her adoring husband Al (Ike to family) of 61 years. Mary is survived by her son Thomas “Brad” Bickauskas (Barb) of Niskayuna, her daughter Joyce Winchester (Ed) of Porters Corners; two adoring granddaughters, Rachel Abdoun (Omar) and Jessica Bradley, and one great grandson, Seif Abdoun.
