Martin “Marty” Zielinski

Martin "Marty" Zielinski, 84, of Rotterdam, NY, passed away suddenly at home with his family by his side, on Thursday, February 16, 2023.  Born on November 11, 1938 in Schenectady, NY he was the son of the lates Theodore and Corrine Zielinski.  Marty was a lifelong resident of Schenectady, NY. He was a former member of the Rotterdam Elks.  Marty was the founding proprietor of the long-time operating and successful Marty's Plumbing for over 50 years.  His knowledge and experience paved the way for many successful local plumbers to this day.  Marty's quick witted personality, patience, and willingness to instruct and mentor anyone, along with his love and dedication to his family's happiness will always be respected and certainly missed.  
Marty is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Pfaffenbach) Zielinski, whom he married on March 27, 1996, loving children, Marti Jean Miller (Steven), Jamie Zielinski, and Melissa Sagendorf (Eric), brothers, Teddy Zielinski (Joanne), Ronald Zielinski (Tina), and Michael Zielinski, cherished grandchildren, William Hobbs (Tammy), Kelly Busby (Eric), and Jimmy Hagen.  Also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home.  Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers those who wish to remember Marty in a special way may make a contribution to Hospice or St. Jude's.
