Luigi (Louie) A. Bortolotti was born on October 25, 1933 and passed away on January 2, 2026.
Louie was born, raised, and worked in New York City, later retiring to Smallwood, NY with his wife to raise their granddaughter. He recently moved to Niskayuna, NY with his wife to be closer to family.
Louie is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years Joan Bortolotti, his granddaughter Danielle Gioielli and her husband Charles Scofield. He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Gioielli and his son-in-law Louis Gioielli. He is also survived by a daughter Katherine, a grandson, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Louie was a bricklayer, a trade he took great pride in. He was an avid animal and nature lover. You could regularly find him outside feeding deer, birds, and the neighborhood cats. Louie was a huge fan of both Indy Car and Formula 1 racing. He was known for his perfect penmanship, and loved to paint and carve anything he could find. He was a member of the Bethel Lions Club where he regularly volunteered his time, and was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Louie will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends, and the solid, dependable presence that he brought to the lives of those who knew and loved him.
