Lorraine Sroczynski, 93, of Schenectady, NY passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023.
She was born in Schenectady on April 8, 1930 to Chester and Jean LuBrant. Lorraine attended Mont Pleasant High School. She worked as a secretary at General Electric before taking time off to raise her family. Lorraine worked at Gershon’s Deli for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Church of St. Adalbert and the Altar Rosary Society. Lorraine was married to Matthew Sroczynski for 41 years until his death in 1993. They were a great example of family values and cherished Polish traditions that are continued by her family today. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was predeceased by her brother, Bob LuBrant. She is survived by her children Lauri and Jim Komazenski, Jim and Karen Sroczynski, and Tim and Melissa Sroczynski; her grandchildren, Mike and Renee Komazenski, Jason and Meaghan Komazenski, Kristin Komazenski (Dalton Wheeler), Kevin Sroczynski, Alicia Sroczynski (Ryan Loucks), Alex Sroczynski (Amy Laskey), and Sarah Sroczynski (Max Mellor); her great-grandchildren Michael and Matthew Komazenski; her siblings Don and his wife Annette LuBrant, and Jack LuBrant. She is also survived by several nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Church of St. Adalbert at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Lorraine may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or a charity of your choice.
