Joseph “Peter” Marx, 75 passed away suddenly in his home on March 4, 2020. He was the beloved husband to Priscilla (previously deceased) for 48 years, a fun loving father to J.P. (Lindsey) and Amanda (Daniel), and the best grandfather one could ask for to Vanessa (Wesley), Joseph, and Allison. He will be sorely missed.
Pete was born July 12, 1944 and was raised in Schenectady, NY by his mother and father Howard and Betty Marx where he and his sister Carolyn (Pat) and nephew Kevin decided to stay and raise their families. After completing his studies at Boston College and Kansas State, Pete married his high school sweet heart and completed his time serving his county in Vietnam, and then began his career not only taking care of his family, but of NYS through the social service department.
Pete was known for his true love of people and his love of animals, which is now expressed through both of his children who have a house full of pets. Also survived by Pete are his sister in law’s Karen (John) and Janice (Bill) along with multiple nieces and their families. He was also blessed to have two great grandsons before his passing.
Service will be held at a later date due to the current situation.
