John Jozwiak Obituary

John was born at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on October 22, 1963 to Richard and Mary Jozwiak. John passed away surrounded by his family due to complications from cardiac arrest at the age of 61 on September 23, 2025. He attended St. Adalbert's Catholic school and Mont Pleasant High School. John’s first job was at Our Original Pizzeria at the age of 13. At the time of his death, he was employed with Market 32 in the Meat Department, where he has worked the last 42 years. John was very proud of the fact that he never called in sick and was well loved by his coworkers and customers. He loved agitating his coworkers with practical jokes and comments such as there being a chill in the air on 99 degree days. You would often see him sitting at the picnic table during his break and lunch having a cigarette and feeding the local wildlife. It was very rare to see him without a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee in his hand, and if you ever asked how he was, he would reply “Fantastic".

John's hobbies included gardening and maintaining “Grandma Teta’s” yard on Webster St. Juliette's grandfather would be very proud of how he maintained the yard and brought it back to its former glory. John ate dinner with Juliette nearly everyday from the time she was born until his death. He enjoyed walking Yuki along the bike path and playing cards with his close friends Kevin, Vince, and David. He especially loved betting Kevin in football and taking all his money.

John is survived by his daughter Juliette Jozwiak, the love of his life, as well as Kali and JJ Knapp whom he also considered to be his children. Juliette and John had a special bond that will not be broken and will last forever. John is also survived by his siblings Karen Bailey, Richard Jozwiak (Edie), Marie Jozwiak (Ray), Janet McNulty (Tom), and Sharon Jozwiak. As well as nieces and nephews; Ricky (Trish) and Brian (Sugay) Macejka, Erik Bailey, Leah DeFrancisco, Nick and Jessica McNulty, Kaila and Brennan Macejka, KeyJuan Harden, Kiara and Katie-anna Juarbuee, Lakley McNulty.

John is predeceased by his father Richard S., his mother Mary C., sister Patty, brother in law Ace Bailey, and dog Shadow. He is also predeceased by extended family who he loved dearly, Anthony P. and Carol Teta.
