Joan (Cornelius) Slater, 79, a resident of Glendale Nursing Home passed away peacefully on March 9, 2022.
Born and raised in Schenectady by her parents Lucy & Howard (Ranalli) Cornelius. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. She was employed by Guilderland Schools for many years. After retiring, she and her late husband Ronald E. She enjoyed cooking, and would grace any party or event she went to, with her specialty homemade pizzas and homemade broccoli bread. Joan loved children and cared for many even through her older age. Joan also loved shopping, sewing, playing cards and most of all loved to spend time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ronald E. Slater.
Joan is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Susan (Smith) Slater and George Smith, and her son Ronald E. Slater II and Cristal (Guidarelli) Slater , Grandsons William Smith and Joshua Slater, Granddaughters Taylor Smith and Hannah Slater. Sister Linda (Cornelius) Troiani, Brother-in-law, Peter Troiani. Sisters-in-law, Doris (Slater) Needle and many nieces and nephews.
