James W. Bousa, 54, of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully at home of heart failure, on Thursday, May 3, 2018. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of James and Carol (Cross) Bousa. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School, and attended Boces Trade School to earn his fine craftmanship as a carpenter at Linton High School. As a boy he delivered newspapers in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood and shoveled snow. Shortly before meeting his wife Laura he worked at Bellevue Builders truss division starting out as a laborer swinging a hammer where he worked his way up to truss shop manager, and was awarded the Presidents award each year. He was employed at the same job for twenty-nine years until 2015 when he took ill and retired. James was a very hard and dedicated worker but for the past three years he relaxed at home with his wife Laura and puppy "Trussell".
James is the loving husband of Laura J. Osterhout Bousa whom he married on August 26, 1989, son of James and Carol Bousa, brother of, Richard (Valerie) Bousa, Kim (Jason) Pasquariello, and the late John "Johnny" Bousa, many beloved brother and sister-in-laws, several nieces and nephews and his late in-laws, Frederick and Cecelia (Simmons) Osterhout.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11 a.m., from the DeLegge Funeral Home. All are welcomed to immediately follow to Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home.
