Giuseppe Musumeci, 81, of Rotterdam, also known as Joe or Pippo by all who loved him, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. On that day the world lost an amazing man. Born and raised in Fiumefreddo, Sicily. He was the son of the late Alfio and Cristina Musumeci.
Joe worked for the Italian Navy – Sigonella for 13 years before moving to America. Joe settled in New York in 1991 and got into the restaurant business with a passion of making specialty pizza with his family.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Angela Musumeci and his three children, Sal Musumeci, Cristina Sciuto(Gary) and son in law Joe Sciuto, Antonella Riccio (Joe) and grandchildren; Nina Musumeci, Phillip and Jessica Sciuto, Mariana and Angelina Riccio and great grandchildren Ava and Layla. In addition to his family, Joe has three brothers Salvatore (Caterina), Carmelo (Maryann), Antonio, sister-in-law Rosa (Giovanni) and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, and nonno with a big heart and a pure soul. He was caring and humble, who loved unconditionally and enjoyed spending time with his family and more importantly his grandchildren as well as watching sports with his pet dog Zeke. He was a big fan of the New York Giants, Mets, and Juventus Soccer. Joe inspired all in his presence and his legacy will never be forgotten.
Due to the recent upsurge on Covid -19 cases, the family respectfully will only be conducting a private service at this time.
