After a long life well served, our dear Georgia Elliott passed away on May 31, 2018. Georgia was born on November 3, 1922 to Adolphus and Agnes DeRosia in Ticonderoga, NY. She excelled as a student graduating with honors from high school. Shortly after graduation, she married Thomas Elliott. The couple enjoyed over fifty years together. As a homemaker, Georgia devoted herself to creating a special place for family and friends. She cooked interesting meals made with her fresh or preserved garden vegetables. She created beautiful crocheted and knitted wear, baked delightful desserts and always wrote special notes to her loved ones. She had a generous heart and loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Georgia had boundless energy, always seeking new adventure. She loved music and learned the guitar. She took astronomy and exercise classes. She volunteered at Sunnyview Rehab, polling booths and as a Girl Scout Leader. She attended Catholic mass regularly. Reading, and watching baseball and football games occupied her relaxing times. One of her greatest desires was to see the world. She traveled to many states. Even in her 80's, Georgia cruised in Alaska to see her grandson marry. She also went to Scotland, visiting castles and meeting the Scottish people.
Georgia is predeceased by her late husband, Thomas Elliott and her daughter, Linda Quaresimo. She will be missed by surviving family; son, Gary (Joanne) daughter, Kim (Mike Deciero), son-in-law, Dave Quaresimo, grandchildren, Michael (Jen), Scott (Wendy), Matt (Melanie), Laura (Robert), Tom (Nicole), and Dave, great-grandchildren, Scott Jr., Kyle, Jacob, Marissa, Bianca, Sophia, Ryland, and Mia.
A viewing will be held at DeLegge Funeral Home on Thursday, June 7 from 8:15-9:15 a.m. A Catholic Mass will be held immediately following the viewing 9:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Church. Interment will be in Glens Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302, or to St. Luke's Church.
