Ellen J. Harvey

Ellen J. Harvey, 61 of Francis Ave., passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020.  Born in Brookneal, VA, she was the daughter of the late Winford and Dorothy Harvey.  She graduated from Job Corps with a building and maintenance certificate and worked for the Times Union Center for 15 years.  
 

Ellen was sweet and known for having a heart of gold.  She loved her family and loved everyone who loved her.  She would always say "I'm a little piece of leather, but I'm well put together."  

Ellen is survived by her loving children, Jewel, and Jemel Harvey, cherished grandchildren, Amir Branchel, Cherish Harvey, Tristen Hundley, Zaccai Harvey, and Cyane Harvey, sisters, Patricia Harvey, and Faye Harvey, brother, Bobby Hamlette and late brother, Benny Harvey.  Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A calling hour will be held on Thursday, October 15, from 12-1 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home.
