Carol DeHart, 76 of Rotterdam, N.Y. passed away on February 25, 2020 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady NY, after a brief illness, surrounded by her children.
Born on December 25, 1943 in Cortland, NY to the late Frederick and Bernice (McMillen) Klein, graduating from Cortland High School.
After moving to Schenectady in 1964 she worked in the Clerical field at Transworld Trucking and Sunnyview Hospital, later retiring from the Advertising Department of Golub Corporation.
Carol was the devoted mother of Scott DeHart, Michael DeHart and Lisa (DeHart) Rhodes; grandmother of Adam, Kayla, Brent Lee II, Jasyn, Richard, Ashlee, Justin, Braxton, Nataliah and Gini DeHart; Great-grandmother of Joseph Snyde, Noah; DeHart; Braxton Jansen DeHart, Jr;, Aaron Jansen-DeHart, and Olivia DeHart.
Carol is also survived by her sister Donna (Kleine) Tumminar, several nieces and nephews and longtime family friend, Virginia Hayden of Ocala, Florida. She was predeceased by her son, Brent Lee DeHart; her brother, Russell Kleine; her sister, Sharon (Kleine) Nicols; her dear friend, Dorothy (Dottie) Tenney and former husband Gerald (Jerry) B. DeHart, Jr.
Carol enjoyed reading, crafting, playing card games with her friends and spending time with those she loved. Carol was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Carman Methodist Church.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Saturday, September 12th, 2020 at 11 A.M. at New Life Ministries Church, located at 1858 State Street, Schenectady, NY and will be officiated by Pastor Frank Coons.
