Carmen DiVietro, 88, of Rotterdam, passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, July 7, 2024. He was the son of the late Felice and Maria DiVietro. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, he served in the United States Army National Guard. He was employed as a computer operator for Finserv Computer, and later with Davis Vision where he retired. He was a member of St. Madeline Sophie Church. Carmen was a sports advocate and loved the Yankees and Giants. He played semipro baseball, was a referee for Pop Warner football, and a baseball coach for Babe Ruth. He was an avid hunter, and loved spending time with his family, especially going to his grandchildren's sports events.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Negro DiVietro whom he married on August 23, 1959 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Loving father of Paul (Linda) DiVietro, Phyllis (William) Warren, and the late Ralph (his surviving wife Lisa) DiVietro, cherished grandfather of Matthew and Marisa, Paul Jr. (Mariah), Amanda and Jessica DiVietro. Also survived by four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Brother of the lates, Lucy (Robert) Willey, Ruth (John) Polsinelli and Frank (his surviving wife Marilyn) DiVietro.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 9:30-11:00 a.m at St. Madeline Sophie Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery.
