Bruce Andrew Baluch, 80 of Rotterdam, NY passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.

Bruce was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School Class of 1960 and Albany Business College.

Bruce was a Senior Master Sargent for the United States Air National Guard working as a contract specialist at the 109th Airlift Wing at the Stratton Air Base in Scotia, NY.  After his retirement, Bruce also worked at the Stadium Golf Course and at Mattice’s Service Station.

In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed going up to camp at Galway Lake.  He loved to hunt, fish, golf in the PAGL Golf League, watch his grandson Matthew’s sporting events and go to polka dances with his wife.  Bruce loved to travel with his wife and best friends John and Karen Buckley on their many trips to Florida.  He also enjoyed the ocean at Myrtle Beach, SC with the Buckley’s, Jankowski’s and Yamrozy’s.  

Bruce loved his family more than anything in the world and would do anything he could for them.  He loved being a grandpa to his three grandchildren – his pride and joy.

Bruce married the love of his life, Winifred (Winnie) Budka on May 25, 1968 at St. Stanislaus Church in Amsterdam, NY.  

Bruce was predeceased by his parents John and Helen (Ralbovsky) Baluch and his brother John “Jack” Baluch.

Bruce is survived by his wife Winnie, his son, Andrew Baluch and his wife Amanda of Canton, GA, his daughter, Wendy Rogers and her husband Thomas of Schenectady, NY and his grandchildren, Emily Rose Baluch, and Joseph James Baluch of Canton, Ga and Matthew Bruce Rogers of Schenectady, NY.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law Marie Baluch, his nephew David Baluch and his wife Amy, great nephew and great niece, John and Sarah Baluch and many dear friends and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, at 8:15 a.m. from the DeLegge Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 9:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Adalbert.  Interment will be in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions made be made to the Church of St. Adalbert Restoration Fund, 550 Lansing St., Schenectady, NY 12303.
