Armand “Pete” Tariello, age 89, passed away peacefully at home, on April 22, 2018, surrounded by family.
Born in Schenectady NY in 1928, he was the son of the late Erasimo and Rosalia (Capuccio) Tariello. He graduated from the Mont Pleasant High School technical program in 1947. Following high school, he went to work as a punch operator at the Mica Insulator Company, and was later promoted to quality control inspector. He then worked briefly as a machinist at General Electric, where he met his wife of 49 years, the late Anna DiCerbo. He eventually started his own business as a painting and wallpaper contractor, the career that allowed him to support his family, meet wonderful people, and do something he enjoyed, for over 50 years. He was still painting his own home, and helping out family, at the age of 88!
He was a communicant throughout his life at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Schenectady, where he was devoted member of the Holy Name Society for many years.
Pete was a great family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they loved spending time with him. He would always make time to visit with his friends and family. He was selfless; if you needed help with anything, he was just a phone call away, never expecting anything in return. Pete brightened the lives of everyone around him, and will truly be missed.
Pete is survived by daughters Rosalind (John) Kelahan of Newark, DE, and Phyllis (Sonam) Tariello of Schenectady, NY, and son Armand (Mary)Tariello of Schenectady, NY; grandchildren, Jason (Gina) Ralston of Rexford, NY, Philip (Melanie Jensen) Ralston, of Altamont, NY, and Jamie (Bradley) McMillian of Rotterdam, NY; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Evan, Madison, Lilyanna, Anna Kate, and Emma. Also, sisters Mary Bordwell and Catherine Bordwell, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ann Ralston, and brothers, John, Albert, and Paul Tariello.
