Anthony Palluti Obituary

Anthony Frank Palluti passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 20, 1954, to Albert Palluti and Joan (Bourst), he was the second of five children and their only son.

In 1972 Tony graduated from Schalmont High School and enlisted in the Army as an Engineer with the 79th Engineer Battalion. After being stationed primarily in Germany, he was honorably discharged in 1974.

Following a debilitating accident, Tony dedicated himself to raising his five children, nurturing their dreams and aspirations with unwavering guidance, encouragement, and love. He took immense pride in watching them mature into remarkable adults. His love for them was boundless, and he cherished seeing the “Palluti sparkle” being passed down to his grandchildren, many of whom are now grown. While Tony may have longed to see these traits passed on firsthand, he had unwavering confidence that his family heritage would endure through future generations.

While focusing on his family, Tony perfected his gardening and cooking skills and successfully opened two separate pizzerias where these interests could be showcased.

Tony loved to play pool and won a professional pool cue at a competition he attended. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, passing that love to his children and grandchildren. He relished going to dirt bike races supporting his boys and nephews. He was enthralled with the Bigfoot legend, taking drives to any local areas with recent sightings, wishing he would be blessed with his own sighting. Aliens and the Curse of Oak Island were among his favorite television shows, along with horror movies - the bloodier the better.

Tony had many friends and enjoyed playing dice games with them, typically winning. He enjoyed his Friday nights, drinking “Cheers Beers” with his wife, realizing how many things they were truly grateful for.

Perhaps the one gift of Tony’s that will be missed most by his family and friends was his ability to analyze problems from a totally unique perspective. This inner wisdom let Tony see challenges differently and allowed him to come up with creative solutions and sound advice to seemingly impossible situations.

Tony is predeceased by his parents, sister Anne, nephew Brian, and grandson Anthony.

He is survived by Susie, his loving wife of 31 years, his sisters Lisa (Anthony), Patricia, and Alison, sons Shawn (Nancy), Robert (Lindsey), and daughters Tara (Lorenzo), Elizabeth (Joseph), and Corrine (Justin), grandchildren CJ, Drew, Teyana (Matt), Maylena, Mia, Jahnna, Kayla, Christopher, Matthew, Nicholas, Gia, and Anneliese, great grandchildren Eli and Kai; and many, much loved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to America’s VetDogs the Veteran’s K-9 Corps. (371 East Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, NY 11787-2976) or Operation At Ease (203 Central Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12304).
