Raymond H. Leffingwell, 77, of Schenectady, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Baptist Health and Nursing Rehabilitation Center. Born in Schenectady, on September 20, 1941, he was the son of Clayton and Loretta (Richardson) Leffingwell, one of nine children in a very loving and close family. He was a 1960 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He retired after forty-one years as an employee and proprietor of Mont Pleasant Bowling Lanes in Schenectady. He had a passion for bowling and took great pleasure in knowing and serving the people and many friends and family who frequented the lanes.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Donald Leffingwell, Doris Albers, Laurel Leffingwell, Kathleen Panis, and Gloria Bouleris, brother-in-law, Gerald Bouleris, infant son, Raymond, and daughter, Mary Doty.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Barbara Beardsley Leffingwell, cherished daughters, Nancy Leffingwell, Karen Drebitko, and Marjory (Douglas) Vrooman, son-in-law, Robert Doty, brothers, Francis ( Lucille) Leffingwell, Kenneth Leffingwell, and Robert (Jan Johnson) Leffingwell, brother-in-law, Frank Panis, brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Frances Brown, sister-in-law, Anita Beardsley, and brother-in-law Alan Saddlemire. Also his much loved grandchildren, Kara Drebitko, Seaton Drebitko, Raymond (Emilia) Doty, and David (Kaitlyn Rice) Doty, great-grandchildren, Astraeus, and Ryleigh, several nieces and nephews, and many friends who meant so much to him over the years.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the DeLegge Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m. with a service to begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be at a later date.
