Nicholas Cristello Obituary


Nicholas (Nick) Cristello, 86, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 26, 2018. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Antonio and Giovanni Cristello. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He worked at the G.E. Research and Development Center for thirty-one years retiring in 1981. He was lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Nick was a man of faith who loved his family and enjoyed time spent with his friends. He especially enjoyed spending time at his grandchildren's functions which included sporting events, and concerts. A devoted husband for sixty-three years to Dolly Rosie, he dedicated his time to be at Schenectady Center with his wife and developed relationships with staff and other resident members.  

Nick is survived by his beloved wife Rose Luciano Cristello, sons, Anthony Cristello, and daughter-in-law Sheila Cristello, and John and his wife Teresa Cristello, grandchildren, Michael and Cara Cristello, Branden (Kristin) Cristello, Aubree and Ahnalee Cristello, great-grandchild, Ava Rose Cristello, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings, Madeline (William) Mashuta, Carmella (Andrew) Ranze, Josephine (Carmen) Guarneri, Philomenia (Michael) Negro, and Joseph (Anna) Cristello.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 8:15 a.m. from the DeLegge Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Entombment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, from 5-7 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Nick's name may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady 12303.
