George Everett Fluri, 89, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Kingsway Arms in Schenectady, NY. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 22, 1929 in New York City, he served in the United States Army as Private First Class, and Army Reserve. He was a senior Bank Examiner with the New York State Banking Department for over thirty years. He had a tremendous love for baseball since he was a young boy, playing on sand lots in the Bronx, the Army team, and later playing softball in his mid 70's. An avid Yankee fan all the way! He had a unique gift of always having a positive attitude and wanted you to have one, too. He laughed easy and therefore made us all laugh. Most of all "Grandpa George", as he was affectionately called, was a family man. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Mary for over sixty years.
George is survived by his three sons, George, Christopher, and Teddy; eight grandchildren, Christine, Melissa, Holly, Matthew, Jacob, Zachary, Tyler and Makayla; five great-grandchildren, Sophia, Philip, Emma, Gabriella, and Vincent; and daughter-in-law Joanne.
As per George's wishes, there will be no funeral services. He will be interred with full Military Honors at Saratoga National Cemetery.
