Catherine "Kay" Bordwell

Catherine “Kay” Tariello Bordwell, aged 96, passed Sunday, December 30, 2018 away at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT after succumbing to heart failure. She was born on November 23, 1922 in Schenectady, NY to Erasimo and Rosalie Tariello.

Catherine grew up in Schenectady, NY with brothers John, Paul, Albert, Armand and is survived by sister Mary. She proudly graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1941. She went on to work for the State of New York for 23 years, and General Electric for 16 years. She lived in Sheridan Village in Schenectady for over 40 years, moving to Salem, NY in 2013.

She had four children. She is pre-deceased by daughters Margaret and Caroline, and is survived by son Kenneth Harold Bordwell III, and daughter Claudia Pisano. Her grandchildren include Kirra Bordwell, Misha Bordwell, Baylee Bordwell, Bryan Pisano, and Christopher Pisano. Her great-grandchildren are Sasha Bordwell, Baylor Pisano, and Lawson Pisano.

She was beloved by her family, and several life-long friends. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor and faced many life challenges with discipline and determination. She is remembered by many as a kind and generous lady. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, at 10:00 a.m. from the Delegge Funeral Home, 1346 Chrisler Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12303.  Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery and Memorial Park, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Albany.
Calling hours will be held on Monday evening, January 7, from 6-8 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home.
